I passed the AWS Solutions Architect - Associate exam!

After a four-day internal course provided by Capital One, and 30+ hours of online learning with A Cloud Guru - I managed to pass the exam on the first go!

A high proportion of the quesitons were scenario-based - a higher percentage than on the practice exams, for sure. This threw me a bit, as there we no ‘gimmies’ - at all. Knowing about the various ways to connect to the AWS domain, and when to use which one (including cost implications) was a major theme in my exam. VPC build-out was something ACG had stressed multiple times, so I was prepped for that, and happily that did make up another chunk of the questions.

If you are thinking of taking the exam, defintiely give ACG a thorough run through and take the practice exam multiple times until you can score 90%+ reliabliy. The real exam was tougher than the practice, and you’ll need 72% as a minimum to pass.
